A pre-release (read: bug-ridden) version of quetzalcoatl is available for download! Currently it supports the ability to connect to remote hosts via ssh, run several OVAL checks from the unix and linux schemas, and produces an OVAL system characteristic file. Try it out on your debian boxes, and let us know what you think. Feedback is appreciated and can be posted at the project page http://sourceforge.net/projects/quetzalcoatl.

About the Project

Quetzalcoatl aims to be a full featured, open source, OVAL-compatible vulnerability assessment and compliance management tool, written in python. The OVAL standard will allow for a high level of accuracy in identifying vulnerabilites, and the python codebase will allow portability and versatility in deployment.
